When was RLJ Lodging Trust founded?

RLJ Lodging Trust was formed on January 31, 2011 to succeed to the interest of RLJ Development and its two investment funds, RLJ Lodging Fund II, LP and RLJ Real Estate Fund III, LP. RLJ Development was formed in 2000 by Thomas J. Baltimore and Robert L. Johnson with the investment strategy of acquiring focused service hotels located in urban and dense suburban markets. Between 2000 and the initial public offering, RLJ Development and its two funds invested approximately $2 billion and amassed 140 hotels located in 19 states and the District of Columbia. RLJ Development and its two funds contributed substantially all of their assets to RLJ Lodging Trust on in connection with the Trust's initial public offering.
